Giving a voice to animals that don't have a voice!

Recently, as my family and I were on our way to an event, a little dog suddenly darted in front of my car. Clearly lost and terrified, he ran across multiple roads in the busy intersection, miraculously avoiding being hit by several cars. Hurriedly tossing our heels aside on the road, my sister and I jumped out of the car immediately to run behind the poor terrified dog. Finally managing to corner him, we carried the tiny, shaking dog back to our car. Because he was such a small dog and moved so fast, it was a miracle we were able to spot him in time and narrowly save him from being run over. As he slowly settled into my lap, I could feel his tiny heart racing and was grateful we were able to rescue him in time. He was safe now. It took him over a week to get over his traumatic ordeal. It had been at least two days since he had last eaten, and searching for his owners was a near impossible task. From the stories of Hachikō and Greyfriars Bobby and several others, I knew all too well how this little dog might be feeling. These and other incidents inspired me to help existing owners as well as lost pets have a better life—giving a voice to animals that don't have a voice.

How It All Started

There are countless stories of lost or abandoned animals somehow finding their way to my house as if drawn by an invisible sign that said, “animals are welcome here.” If there was such a sign, it couldn’t have been more accurate, because my family kept expanding with every abandoned animal that came along.

One of my earliest memories of this was when someone dumped a poor Chihuahua into our compound. I took him in, nursed him back to health, and rehoused him with a family I trusted, where he lived happily with people who loved him.

My heart would always rend as I felt for each and every one of them, motivating me to foster (even adopt) several cats and dogs and carefully rehouse many more.

From when I was an infant, I have always loved animals. This started with an early encounter, where a wounded lamb befriended me, and, ever since then, I’ve always had a deep connection with every creature I’ve come across.

Growing up with several dogs and birds at home and being inspired by 101 Dalmatians , my love for animals became a passion. My early holidays were often spent on farms in Ireland and Switzerland, and, enjoying the time with all the different animals there, I asked my parents to build me a farm of my own. Soon enough, I had a thriving chicken farm and hatchery that grew to include ducks and Guinea fowl. Everything about my life - what I watched, talked about, played with, drew, and so much more, revolved around animals, and this was becoming a very evident trait to those around me.
